Scale F Marine First Aid Kit
Under the National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) the following vessels classes are required to carry a Scale F First Aid Kit:

Class 1C – Unberthed passenger vessels operating in restricted offshore locations (up to 30 nm)

Class 1D – Berthed passenger vessels operating in partially smooth waters

Class 1E – Berthed passenger vessels operating in smooth waters

Class 2C – Non-passenger vessels operating in restricted offshore locations (up to 30nm)

Class 3C – Fishing vessels operating in restricted offshore locations (up to 30nm)
The following vessels must carry a Scale E Medicine Cabinet and a Scale F First Aid Kit

Class 1C – Berthed passenger vessels operating in restricted offshore locations (up to 30 nm)

Class 2B – Non-passenger vessels operating offshore (up to 200nm)
-
Class 3B – Fishing vessels operating offshore (up to 200nm)
The following vessels must carry a Scale D Medicine Cabinet and a Scale F First Aid Kit

Class 1D – Unberthed passenger vessels operating offshore (up to 200 nm)

Class 1D – Berthed passenger vessels operating offshore (up to 200 nm)
The medical equipment and supplies in the Scale F First Aid Kit are suitable for single incident events involving 1 or 2 persons and are based on the assumption that medical assistance can be obtained within 6 hours. If a vessel will be greater than 6 hours from help, and/or there will be more than 10 people on board, a more comprehensive First Aid Kit should be considered. The pharmacists at Vessel Medic can provide guidance on this.
In accordance with AMSA regulations this First Aid Kit must be checked (and recorded) every 3 months.
